Renowned religious scholar Allama Talib Johri passes away at 80

Renowned Islamic scholar, poet, philosopher and historian Allama Talib Johri passed away at the age of 80 on Sunday night in Karachi, his son Riaz Jauhari confirmed in the wee hours of Monday. He was unwell and was admitted to a private hospital in Karachi and was on a ventilator. He was suffering from a heart condition. Death is not caused by coronavirus. He was previously admitted to hospital several times owing to the deteriorating health conditions. Riaz Jauhari confirmed his death and said that the body had been shifted to Ancholi Imambargah. Allama Jauhari was born in Patna, British India, on August 27, 1938. His father Maulana Muhammad Mustafa Jauhar was a prominent scholar and an Urdu poet known for his exceptional poetry.
